This is a Mini-PCI WiFi Adapter that is installed in a Mini-PCI slot. Only problem is that PCMCIA cards drink battery juice like marathoners drink. Ndiswrapper, the popular choice, proved quirky to me and it was just so much easier to drop my D-Link DWL-650 into the PCMCIA slot (see my Linux notes on this card). For a while I was unable to use my Dell 8600's built-in Centrino WiFi chipset. iwlegacy (for Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and Intel® Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN).For older chips, there are other drivers: ipw2100
iwlwifi is the wireless driver for Intel's current wireless chips. Is there an adapter, plugin or driver I can download that will be compatible with this computer and allow. This project is considered stable and Intel is no longer maintaining it. This work has since been merged into the kernel where is has been for a few years now. This project was created by Intel to enable support for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection mini PCI adapter.
